About this client/child: Owen aged 10 is an extremely happy little boy with the biggest smile. Some of his favourite activities are soft play, swimming, the theatre, walks and funfairs.  He also likes watching Hey Duggee, Peppa Pig and animated films. He has two younger brothers, Elliott aged 7, and Timmy aged 4. They are both very bright and creative boys. Elliott loves mathematics and word searches. Timmy loves everything to do with trains and local playgrounds. As a family of five they love heading off on adventures and are often out on their bikes. Owen was born with a rare chromosome disorder. He is non-verbal and has severe learning difficulties. He needs assistance with eating, drinking and all personal care. Owen communicates well through expression, Makaton and a communication book. He is fully mobile, but uses a specialist buggy for some outings, especially long distances. He is very small for his age. He can experience some sensory processing issues and likes to chew, stim and on occasion, rock. Owen is an engaging little boy, with a lot of love to give!

Overview of role: This is a fast-paced, loving, engaged and kind family. They are looking for an SEN Nanny / Manny to join their busy household and provide an all-round extra pair of hands. Owen’s Mum is a full time stay at home mum, so this really is a divide and conquer role! As you can imagine, with three children, every day is slightly different, and you will play an active role in their after-school routines and activities. Whilst your focus will predominately be supporting Owen, we are also looking for an SEN Nanny/Manny who can support his siblings alongside their mum. Owen is dropped home at 4:00 pm and Elliott and Timmy’s school is a short 6-minute walk away. Sometimes you will facilitate Owen and outside school clubs, and sometimes you might be helping the other two boys with homework or picking one of them up from a club.

Who this job would suit: This is a great role for an SEN Nanny/Manny who is ready to hit the ground running and get stuck in. Candidates should have at least one year’s experience working with a child with additional needs and be comfortable with delivering personal care. Personality wise we are looking for candidates who are engaging, fun, creative, energetic and ready for an adventure.

What’s great about this job: Owen and his family will be lots of fun to work with and there is real team emphasis. Great working environment and lots of things to see and explore in the local area.
