About our client: Adam is 13 years old and lives at home with his supportive and loving family in South West London. He is an engaging, energetic, mischievous and fun-loving young man who loves playing outdoors, trampolining, water and sensory play. Adam sustained an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), and has associated social and communication difficulties, he uses PODD Books/iPad, Makaton and gestures to support his communication. He is a capable young man, and strives for his independence; however, he requires very close 1:1 supervision for his safety. Adam has a full care team in place, many of his team have been sourced via Snap Care and the role comes highly recommended.
Overview of role: The successful SEN Weekend Support Worker will provide the highest level and standard of care and support in all aspects of Adam’s care plan. You will work in collaboration with Adam’s therapy team (neuro-psych, OT, SALT, and music therapy) implementing his programmes and supporting him to reach his therapeutic and rehabilitation goals. Adam responds very well to structure and routine, and would like his SEN Support Worker to plan fun activities that he can participate in. There will be additional hours available during the school holidays, so this could be an ideal position for an SEN Teacher or Teaching Assistant.
