SEN Support Worker / PA in Abingdon, OX14. A part-time flexi role is available for a professional SEN Support Worker / PA to assist a bright, creative and active 8-year-old chap with complex care needs. Up to £17.00 Gross per Hour.
Nearest Tube/Station: Family home not accessible via transport. Must be a driver / cyclist.
Wage/Salary: £15.00 Weekdays | £17.00 Weekends | Gross per Hour
Driver Essential? Preferable, WAV for use on duty
Essential: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a genuine passion and interest in supporting others to reach their full potential, a fun and positive person, non-smoker/vaper
Desirable: SEN or childcare experience, however, not essential as full training provided.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Weekday Mornings: 7.00am – 9.00am | Weekday Afternoons: 3.00pm – 6.00pm | Saturdays: 8.00am – 12.30pm. Mixture of shifts available, including additional shifts during school holidays, please get in touch with your availability.

About this client: Joseph is 8-years-old and has a wide range of interests and hobbies including playing framed football, boccia, baking, reading or listening to audio books, attending live shows, creative writing and watching competitive shows such as Total Wipeout or Gladiators; this is only a few items on his hobbies list! He has a great sense of humour and recently wrote to Camerian Diaz to ask her to join his team of Support Workers / PA’s – he has yet to hear back, so has asked Snap Care to help with the search in the meantime! Joseph has Cerebral Palsy and a PEG in situ for his nutrition, he uses AAC to support his communication. He uses a powered wheelchair and requires support with transfers. He lives at home with his Mum, Dad and twin sisters (5) in Abingdon. He is at the very heart of a loving and supportive family and has a small home care team providing 1:1 support at home and in the community.
Overview of role: Joseph is a busy chap, his days are jam packed, between school, creative writing, extra-curricular activities, appointments and being a big brother, it’s difficult to fit everything in! His SEN Support Worker / PA will assist with all areas of his ADL’s, personal care, manual handling / transfers, therapy routine, and participating in his extra-curricular activities and sports. The SEN Support Worker / PA will continually promote Joseph’s independence and his self-help skills; he is an extremely determined young man and strives to reach his full potential. Typical nursery duties related to Joseph are included in the job role and responsibilities.
