SEN Buddy / PA in Walton-on-Thames, KT12. A flexible, part-time position for an enthusiastic, dynamic and supportive individual with an interest in promoting independence and supporting therapy programmes to help an 11 year old with cerebral palsy reach his full potential. Up to £21.00 Gross per Hour

Driver Essential? Yes, automatic SUV for use on duty
Essential: Experience supporting a young person with SEN / additional needs on a 1:1 basis. Excellent communication skills. Non-smoker/vaper
Desirable: Currently studying or graduate in SaLT/OT/Physiotherapy; Previous experience implementing therapy / rehabilitation programmes.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Part-time hours available, ideally two to three after school/ evening shifts per week, mostly during term time. Additional hours available on weekends if desired. Our client is very flexible and willing to schedule hours around your current work, study, or family life commitments therefore the start or finish time can be flexible.

About this client/child: Felix is an 11-year-old bright, capable, and happy young man, living at home with his Mum and Dad, he attends a mainstream school setting, and enjoys spending time with his friends, playing computer games, cycling and being active. Felix has Cerebral Palsy and has a PEG in situ for his fluids and medication, he enjoys a soft food diet. Felix is mobile and uses a manual wheelchair for longer distances when out and about. Felix strives for his independence, works extremely hard on his rehabilitation, and continues to make great progress. He would like a proactive, positive, and motivational SEN Buddy / PA to provide 1:1 assistance and support on a part-time basis.

Overview of role: The SEN Buddy / PA will assist Felix with his therapy programme, personal goals, and overall targets, support to participate in extracurricular activities, explore new hobbies and interests, and keeping up with his friends etc. This position is all about promoting independence and enabling Felix to live life to the fullest. Felix requires a creative, adaptable and proactive SEN Buddy / PA who will focus, motivate and encourage him to reach his full potential. Training and ongoing support will be provided to you by his team of therapists. There is plenty of flexibility in this role, so if you are interested, please get in touch with your availability.
