About this client: Snap Care has had the pleasure of working with Rosie (18-years-old) and her family for over 8 years! Rosie enjoys audio books, keeping up with her friends on social media, fashion, make-up, online shopping, going to the movies and spending time during the holidays in Cornwall in her family holiday home. During her stay in Cornwall, she loves nothing more than getting out to the beach (a short walk away) in her all-terrain wheelchair. Rosie has a degenerative condition and requires 1:1 support to meet all her health, care, and medical needs; she is totally reliant on others. Her condition presents as a physical disability, and she is an electric wheelchair user; it also affects her hearing, eyesight, and speech. She receives most of her nutrition, fluid, and medication via a PEG. Rosie is an intelligent young woman; she knows her own mind and can communicate verbally and engage in conversations in a quiet setting. Rosie boards at school Monday to Thursday and is studying at GCSE level.

Overview of role: Rosie’s PA will assist and support with all her daily tasks, including all aspects of personal care, administering feeds, liquids and medication via her PEG, repositioning, manual handling (ceiling track hoists in both her family and holiday home), accessing activities, events, participating in family life. The role includes facilitating Rosie to access social media, working as her scribe, and everything in between – her PA is there to support Rosie to do what she wants and needs to do. The role also involves night care, and the shift is defined as an On-Call Night, meaning you will sleep in the family home, and assist Rosie as and when, or if required during the night. Rosie might need help with fixing her blanket/duvet or require support with personal care; other nights she will not need any support. You will be alerted via an audio monitor and tend to Rosie’s needs as and when required. You must be confident working in a sole charge role. Rosie can offer on average 2 weekend shifts per month, and additional hours during school holidays.

Who this job would suit: A happy, positive, confident, tech savvy, energetic *female PA, who can connect with Rosie and provide a high standard of care and support.

What’s great about this job: This role is highly recommended by current Snap Care employees. You will have the opportunity to work within a welcoming family setting and enjoy exploring all the loveliness North Cornwall coast and Guildford has to offer. Training is provided.

Who is recruiting for this role? Snap Care will be carrying out all recruitment including shortlisting, recruiter interviews and arranging employer interviews. Please note, unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship for any of our vacancies.
