Recruiter: Rachael rachael@snapcare.co.uk

About this client/child: We are looking for an experienced SEN Nanny to care for Ravi and Divya who are 6-year-old twins. You will primarily support Ravi who has hyperactivity, developmental delays, and ADHD. You will work alongside another nanny who will help with support for Divya but there will be occasions when you will be caring for both children. Ravi is supported by a team of therapists. He has good language skills but needs firm boundaries and a SEN Nanny who can support his behavioural needs; he is extremely active. As part of the role, you will role model appropriate behaviour and work on social skills together. If the nanny has training in ABA this would be advantageous.  Clear communication with the parents and Ravi’s therapists is very important and the nanny needs to be a skilled communicator.

Overview of role: This is a fully staffed household and so no nursery duties are required.  The SEN Nanny will be fully responsible for sourcing educational resources, planning activities and education and liaising with therapists, preparing for travel etc. The SEN Nanny will be required to work 5 days.  The hours will be 6.30am to either 7.30pm or 8.30pm, with time off during the day when the children are at school.  If the nanny is not needed to attend meetings or carry out child related duties, they can take this time during the day for themself and go to the gym etc.

Who this job would suit: This busy family are looking for a bright, caring and energetic *female SEN Nanny with demonstrable experience of working with children with SEN. The candidate should be able to fit well into the family and offer them support. Experience working in an intergenerational family setup would be an additional bonus. The family travel regularly (including to the UK which can be every few months) and this can often be spontaneous, so the nanny needs to be very flexible. The family is looking for someone who will commit to at least 2 years to provide the children with stability and continuity of approach.

What’s great about this job: You will have the opportunity to utilise your SEN skills to help Ravi reach his developmental goals.  The family are happy to offer flexibility, for example, if the SEN Nanny has people visiting them in Dubai, the family are happy for the nanny to change her days off to spend time with their visitors. This would only be possible after the first 4 - 6 weeks to ensure the nanny has settled into the role and started to build that relationship with Ravi and his family. The family are offering an attractive package that includes self-contained accommodation and a driver to take you to and from work.

Who is recruiting for this role? Snap Care will be carrying out all recruitment including shortlisting, recruiter interviews and arranging employer interviews. Please note, unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship for any of our vacancies.

* When a specific gender is essential, it is considered a genuine occupational requirement under paragraph 1, schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, for a female or male worker to work with our client.
